Hiking

Perfectly prepared, signposted hiking trails await

The Val Venosta is an excellent hiking region: it has numerous paths that follow the “Waale” (irrigation channels) and rustic mountain huts, and is surrounded by the nature conservation areas of the Texel (Tessa) Group and Stilfserjoch (Passo dello Stelvio). From leisurely family hikes to challenging mountain tours in the Ortler (Ortles) region, South Tyrol’s mountains offer the perfect route for everyone.

You can’t miss a walk along the “Waale”: these artificial irrigation ditches channel glacier water from the Schnalstal (Val Senales) to the “dry” Val Venosta via the desert-like slopes of the Sonnenberg to the foot of Juval Castle.
